Curb Machine Operator

Job Summary

The Curb Machine Operator is responsible for operating specialized curb and gutter machines to install concrete curbing on commercial, residential, and municipal construction projects. This role ensures accurate alignment, consistent quality, and efficient production while maintaining strict adherence to safety and project specifications.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Operate curb and gutter machines to place and form concrete curbing according to project
    specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and layout lines to ensure proper alignment
    and elevation
  • Set up, adjust, and calibrate equipment for different curb types and site conditions
  • Monitor concrete flow, consistency, and machine performance during pours
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs
  • Coordinate with form setters, finishers, and laborers to ensure smooth workflow
  • Ensure finished product meets quality standards, including line, grade, and finish
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with general labor tasks as needed

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2+ years of experience operating curb machines or similar concrete paving equipment
  • Strong understanding of concrete placement, curb and gutter construction, and grading
  • Ability to read construction plans, grade stakes, and elevations
  • Experience working on commercial, residential, and/or municipal (DOT) projects
    preferred
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL may be required depending on equipment and company
    needs

  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50–75 pounds
  • Frequent standing, bending, climbing, and walking on uneven terrain
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments, including extreme heat common in Arizona
  • Manual dexterity to operate controls and tools
  • Work Environment

  • Outdoor construction sites with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy equipment
  • Work may include early mornings, weekends, and overtime depending on project
    demands
